Pearl Harbour & The Dole Plantation

IMG_5384 - Version 2We headed out to Pearl Harbour early one morning to get tickets to go out to the Arizona Memorial. It was extremely sobering (as somber as you can get while trying to keep a 2 year old quiet). I gained a new appreciation for those men and women who served in the armed forces, and to who we owe the freedoms we enjoy today. The memorial was built directly on top of the sunken USS Arizona and those souls who went down with her.

After the arizona memorial, we headed onto the USS Missouri or “Mighty Mo”. I cannot comprehend living in such small spaces for extended periods of time.

That afternoon, we headed out to the dole plantation. While somewhat less informative than I would have liked (none of the fields that the train takes you by actually had pineapple fruit) it was still fun.
